Alex Jeffrey’s Coaching – The Final Module

The final Alex Jeffrey Coaching Program Module took place last night. Alex’s coaching has come to its formal conclusion, but it’s not the end.

Alex intends to continue holding training calls and webinars for his students. He plans to hold brainstorming sessions and webinars with expert guests. Already penciled in are Rich Schefren, Mike Filsaime and others.

So, although the formal modules are now complete, there is a whole lot more good stuff to come.

The Fortunate 500

The students of Alex, that’s a group of some 500, came to be known as the Fortunate 500. We received some high quality coaching from Alex and we count ourselves fortunate to have been able to take advantage of this opportunity.

Back in November, we set out to build our individual businesses. The aim was to set up an Internet Marketing business and in doing so to develop and implement skills that we can carry forward and use in any niche that we may choose in the future. Skills that can also be used offline to great benefit.

With such a large group the level of experience and skills amongst the students was wide ranging, as you would expect. There were complete novices and some very experienced marketers, and everything in between.

While for some of the students it was a steep learning curve, some came into the program well prepared. Some already had an established blog and other websites that were able to use to good effect.

Many of the students had a high level of knowledge and they were able to put this to good use helping others as well as building their own blogs. The novices were helped along by both each other and these more experienced students.

In fact, whatever the problem, one of the students was usually able to resolve it. Sometimes, requests for help brought forward a multitude of different solutions for the same issue, very helpful and enlightening.

You Need A Plan

Some students clearly came prepared with a plan of how to best make the most of the opportunity before them. This was evident right from the start and they are the ones who have achieved the most over the past several weeks.

Those who have formulated their goals and developed a plan with good organization and time management have also done well.

Some are able to devote all their time to this process while others have many demands on their time, with full time jobs and young families to care for. Of necessity they have to take a longer term view, but it can be done. These people have earned my respect for their determination and commitment.

Overall, Alex has empowered us to devise and implement our own plan. In doing so we have had to gain, develop and use our knowledge, skills and experience to carry us forward. Alex has encouraged and motivated us, coaxing us out of our comfort zones so that we can fully implement our plans. And having done so, we are well placed to go forward with our own businesses in whichever direction we choose.

Time To Reflect

As Alex himself said, when we look back to where we were in November and reflect on how far we have come, the amount of ground that we have covered is staggering. In doing so we can all justifiably feel proud of our respective achievements whilst at the same time, identifying our most and least successful areas so that we can leverage our future efforts and propel ourselves on to bigger and better things.

The Way Forward

For me, I intend to continue with this blog and I will continue to build my Internet Marketing Business. I have many ideas that I would like to implement in the future. For now, I have one project that requires the bulk of my time and commitment and it is the key to moving forward with my plan.

I would also like to improve this blog, maybe with a new theme and some graphics but that will depend on the time that I have available. For now it is a fairly plain and functional theme which is fine as it’s the information that counts, not the look of the cover, in my humble opinion.

I would like to end this post at this point by giving a big THANK YOU to all of my fellow students. Many have helped me either directly or indirectly. And hopefully, I have been of some help in return.

But most of all, I would like to thank Alex Jeffrey for all of his efforts in making this excellent coaching program such an enjoyable and beneficial experience.

Two Coaching Sessions

February 5th, 2009

We had two interesting coaching sessions with this week.

Alex returned from his holiday in the USA to give his students what he called his “Triple Threat Affiliate” coaching session on Monday. Once again, Alex covered a lot of ground in a short space of time.

In many ways it was a consolidation session. Having had some hands on experience, it was agreed that now would be a good time to re-assess where we are and review our goals for the next 90 days.

Organization and planning are key features of running our internet businesses. Alex related the story of how a friend and colleague, who he met at a seminar in the USA last year, was stuck and wanted advice from Alex. He perceived Alex to be a more advanced marketer than he was. Alex gave him some advice and encouragement.

Last week they met again by coincidence. This guy has applied himself to the development of his business and has overtaken Alex, at least in terms of money earned.

The keys to his progress seem to have been identifying and avoiding the obstacles that held him back, focused 90 minute work sessions, journaling, working smarter not harder.

Business is basically simple but we make it harder and more complicated than it needs to be.

Alex walked us through how he manages an email marketing campaign and showed us how we can learn and improve our efforts. List building is a key factor in the long term success of any business and methods of building and managing our subscriber lists were discussed.

The second session on Tuesday was a JV that Alex is participating in with Glen Dietzel. This was basically a promotion for a highly regarded rapid business acceleration program. During the seminar, some interesting information was covered. Whilst I took a lot of notes I had to take an important telephone call so I missed some of the information. There is a good review of the session over at fellow student Stephen Bray’s Blog.

Alex Jeffrey Coaching – My Progress

January 29th, 2009

Regular visitors will recall from a previous post that I am intending to produce a video for the competition has arranged for his students.

So far I have not had sufficient time available to give it a decent shot. I have been in the process of putting my house on the market which has taken up a lot of my free time.

That and working full time has taken me away from my business to some degree. I’m not complaining, that’s just how it is. You have to get on with life as well as building an internet marketing business.

But it has meant that I have not been posting as often as I would like and I have not had enough time to devote to various projects like writing an ebook that I have planned.

But I will get around to it all soon.

On the whole though, I continue to make progress. Failing forward as Alex put’s it.

For example, I was on the first page or Google for the term Alex Jeffrey for a brief while, then I slipped to page two. I remained there for some time until I started tinkering with things to try and increase my position and traffic.

I tried experimenting with my title tag but I should have left it as it was. I lost ground, traffic took a big (make that massive!) nose dive.  When I restored it to the previous version things returned to normal (phew!).

Then I decided to add some more plugins. I had several in mind so I went ahead and installed them. Big mistake. I completely lost my sidebar, I assume because of a conflict. I hastily set about uninstalling them all again and was very relieved to see things restored to normal.

There are a few lessons to be learned from this.

Firstly, if it ain’t broke, don’t fix it!

Secondly, only make one change at a time. Installing multiple plugins all at once is not a good idea.

I usually test things out on a spare Wordpress site that I have, but I neglected to do that this time.  It pays to test first in ways that will not be detrimental to the main site.

I guess that I was in too much of a hurry to make up for lack of time.

I have slipped down to page seven at the time of writing. Now, having learned my lesson, I have to get moving forward again.

Alex Jeffrey Google Competition

January 18th, 2009

Alex Jeffrey has given his students a competition with a prize of $1000 up for grabs by the first student to get to position nuber one on Google for the term Alex Jeffrey.

This competition is hotting up with a number of Alex Jeffrey students getting close. Several of Alex’s students blogs are appearing on the first few pages with at least one on page one.

Who will win?

We will have to wait and see. But win or loose, everyone who takes part will benefit.

Alex Jeffrey will undoubtedly benefit from this added activity surrounding the Alex Jeffrey brand.

And so too will Alex Jeffrey students gain benefit from the exercise. Not only is it highly motivating but they will learn skills that they can use to promote their blogs in the search engines. Skills that will stand them in good stead in the future.

The Google Competition is a win win situation for all involved.

But one lucky student will walk away with $1000.

Alex Jeffreys Coaching

January 10th, 2009

We had an excellent bonus Alex Jeffreys coaching webinar with guest spesker Maria Andros AKA the Video Marketing Queen on Thursday night. I am looking forward to getting involved with video, it’s something I’ve been planning to do for some time.

And again, the coaching webinar with Alex Jeffreys last night was very informative. Yes, that’s two nights in a row! Thank God Alex Jeffreys is going on holiday ;) Maybe those of us in the UK and other time zones who have to stay awake into the early hours of the morning for the coaching will have a chance to catch up on some sleep!

I jest, it’s well worth the effort for such excellent coaching From Alex Jeffreys.

Some interesting competitions to take part in have been announced. That Alex Jeffreys is a shrewd dude. He knows that if he gives everyone an incentive, something to go for, they will be more likely to take action.

It’s good to have some motivation. But it’s not really about the competition. As they say, it’s not the winning but the taking part. And that’s never been more true than in this situation. Alex Jeffreys knows that by taking action in each of the areas, video creation and page one push, his students will reap the rewards.

But someone has to win the Alex Jeffreys competition and it could be anyone. But I will be happy when the prizes have been won and the dust has settled to have increased my ranking/traffic a little and gained some new skills to carry forward into my business.

I wish all of Alex Jeffreys students every success with their video’s and page promotions. Have Fun!
